When Lizzie reached out to me, she mentioned how special it would be to have their family photos done at their 100+ year old home in Pennington. Um, yes please!! When we went up to little C’s bedroom, there was an heirloom firetruck from his dad’s childhood. I love that little C is obsessed with the siren that still works + pushing it around his adorable (!!) room.
Happy Lear Year friends!! To honor this special day that occurs every four years, I wanted to share a photo session from this past fall. You may recognize this family from May or last fall for Emma’s 2nd year birthday celebration! As I mentioned here, we always have crazy weather for our sessions. This was the first time that the weather was absolutely beautiful, maybe a slight chill, but nothing that we couldn’t handle!
One thing that I admire about Kim is her drive to be a better person every.single.day. She isn’t letting anything hold her back. She is almost finished with nursing school, raising her little family, + helping her sister/niece. I know how important her sister is to her, so I suggested that we do the session at their home again to include both her sister+niece. It’s always a treat to take photos of a family in their home, where everyone is most comfortable, + we can take a little break for snacks/drinks if necessary as well.

The morning of this session was bitterly cold. Right before I left the house I thought of how fun it would be to have the girls drink hot chocolate. Mom was totally on board, as were both girls. It was the perfect way to end our photo session!
In the session agreement, when I asked what the overall vision is for the session, Katy wrote “I’ve had other photos taken of the kids. I haven’t had anyone able to have their personality come through in pictures – you are magic!!” <- HOLY MOLY, WHAT A COMPLIMENT! Interested in seeing previous sessions of a much smaller Julia + John?! Check them out from 2011 + 2009 (let it be known that that first image is still one of my all time favorite photos). Probably one of my favorite things about looking through all three sessions of these kiddos – both girls have worn pettiskirts! 🙂

When I met Matt + Kaleigh for this maternity session in downtown Princeton, one of the first things Kaleigh asked me was about life in Princeton + being associated with the seminary. THIS WAS A GIRL WHO DID HER HOMEWORK! She knew more about me than most, by taking in every post I’ve made on my blog. That truly blew me away. While we all three (or four!) were freezing walking around Princeton, I found myself warmed by the love between these two + the little boy growing. Matt is quite the protector over Kaleigh + babe, I believe it’s quite apparent in these photos too. Come back soon to see the newest addition, as he made his arrival a month early!
