nyc getaway iphone photos

I seriously love having my iphone! Anthony makes fun of me when I have my iphone in one hand and my camera in the other. There is something about the ease of the iphone (and I love being able to tweet & facebook the photos to make everyone jealous of our adventures!!)

Friday night we had dinner at Caliente Cab Co. in Greenwich Village. Yum-O! When we were walking to Caliente from the subway we say the wafels and dinges truck parked (dinges are the toppings you put on your Belgian wafel). It rang a bell and then it dawned on us they were on Throwdown with Bobby Flay. So on the way back from dinner we stopped for our desert. And I cannot go into NYC without stopping at Crumbs Bakery!

Here is the good part and where our luck changed! Anthony and I went to the matinee of Promises, Promises. As we were walking to our hotel we “passed” (being a relative term since its on a street we weren’t walking down – but I saw the sign) by the Wicked theater. On a whim I said, let’s try to get tickets to see Wicked tonight. We walked down to the theater to see a line forming. We got in line and I asked the 4 high school kids in front me of what the line was for (being so naive!). They told me it was for the lottery and that was about it. Then I overheard two guys behind us chatting about if they should stay in line or not. I turned around to ask them how it worked. They said how there are 14 pairs of tickets up for grabs at each performance. So we waited in line for 15 minutes, put our name in the drum, waited 30 minutes, and slowly they began calling names. AND MY NAME WAS CALLED!!!!!!! I was in shock, then elated, then tears began welling because I just WON the incredibly tough Wicked lottery. The middle photo is me after we were up with the other winners. And then the following photo are all the losers. We spent $52.50 for two 2nd row seats! Totally the best night I’ve had in a really long time. And don’t tell anyone that I took iphone photos of the stage and final bows.

Looks like so much fun! i need to schedule a vacation for my husband and I in NY one of these days (he has never been and I’ve only been once).

Yay for wicked! Someday Andy and I have to go without the kiddos and it would be an entirely different trip!

nyc getaway

Like I mentioned in this post, Anthony and I took a weekend getaway into NYC this past weekend. It was just what the two of us needed as school is “winding” down (I put that in quotes because a month away is Anthony’s first comp exam – which means life is going to be stressful in this household for the next 4 weeks!).

The whole reason we were even going to be in NYC was to see Promises, Promises. I adore Kristen Chenoweth (I mean she’s a fellow Okie!) and was excited to see her on Broadway. Unfortunately it was a bit of a let down, but I am glad we got to see her and Sean Hayes on stage together.

We arrived at our hotel Friday mid-afternoon to drop our things off before heading down to the Intrepid. All I can say is that is one huge boat!

Please tell me you can just hear the yell coming out of his mouth?!?!?

I was there! ๐Ÿ™‚

Saturday morning we ventured down towards the Flatiron so we could have lunch at Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. We had some time to kill before lunch, so we walked along until we found Union Square Farmers Market. And holy goodness if we weren’t walking more that day I would have bought much more than our few muffins and empire apples.

All the fresh flowers made me smile – spring is here!!!!

I seriously had no idea how popular the Shake Shack is, but I’m glad we got in line when we did. By the time we ordered, the line was starting to wrap around the park. The food was delicious and I even had a banana & vanilla concrete (Rusty’s Frozen Custard in Oklahoma serves these so it was a little piece of “home” in NYC!)

I have another post coming up with iphone photos including some incredibly good luck we had on Saturday night!

children’s museum | oklahoma family photographer

A few photos from our day adventure at the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum in Seminole, Oklahoma. I absolutely love that I have these photos of the boys. This was their first time at the museum and to see the awe, wonderment, and excitement on their faces was priceless!

This was the first thing Randon saw when we walked in – that look of joy on his face warms my heart!

There is a little grocery store with “just the right size” shopping cart for Rylan to push around.

The bubble station was one of our last stops and boy did we have fun in there.

weekend getaway

We are doing a little birthday celebratin’ (even though it’s a few weeks away) this weekend in NYC. Thankfully the weather is suppose to be superb, we have an awesome hotel in Times Square, going to see Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth in Promises, Promises on Saturday and then topping it off with a little Easter service at St. Patty’s.

Here’s a photo I grabbed while taking some photos in downtown OKC. More of those photos are to come too!

randon, rylan and conner | oklahoma family photographer

This past week I went back to Oklahoma to visit my family. As I mentioned in a previous post, my parents have temporary custody of my nephews. Today marks one month and I know it’s been quite an adjustment for my parents. I am glad I had the chance to visit and play with my nephews. We played hard over the weekend, going to a children’s museum (those photos are to come!) and playing outside. Here are a few of my favorite photos.

This is Conner, who the boys absolutely love. He loves them just as much, protecting them at all times. When I was trying to take his photo, he was being rotten and refused to look at me. Then he laid his head down as if he was over my camera! In a few weeks, he’s going back to be with my brother Eric when he gets settled back down in Dallas.

There is nothing better than a tantrum photo!

This one was my buddy all week. We played with play dough, learned how to play Go Diego Go on the Wii, went to the museum and learned a bunch, and took many a bath!

I love that I caught him mid-lick!

christian | princeton newborn photographer

Because I’m a little late in getting this post up, I have a few more to share of Mr. Christian. You may remember his momma and daddy from here (after reading that post, I never came back and shared other photos from that session – oops!)

I loved that he actually gave me some smiles for their first family portrait!
